Positive Relationships<\/b>. Trust is in part based on the extent to which a leader is able to create positive relationships with other people and groups.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><i>To instill trust a leader must:<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stay in touch on the issues and concerns of others.<\/li>\n<li>Balance results with concern for others.<\/li>\n<li>Generate cooperation between others.<\/li>\n<li>Resolve conflict with others.<\/li>\n<li>Give honest feedback in a helpful way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span>Good Judgement\/Expertise<\/strong>. Another factor in whether people trust a leader is the extent to which a leader is well-informed and knowledgeable. They must understand the technical aspects of the work as well as have a depth of experience.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><i>This means<\/i>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They use good judgement when making decisions.<\/li>\n<li>Others trust their ideas and opinions.<\/li>\n<li>Others seek after their opinions.<\/li>\n<li>Their knowledge and expertise make an important contribution to achieving results.<\/li>\n<li>Can anticipate and respond quickly to problems.<b><br><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>3. Consistency<\/b>.
